Oh the anticipation of a new week that comes on a Sunday night. The fridge is stocked with groceries. The laundry is
still on the laundry room floor in a heaping smelly pile almost done. My belly is full with the indulgences that come with a weekend of low-key at-home yummy comfort food dinners eaten on the couch while watching 24. Lasagna, salad, french bread, cookie cake. French bread-turned-French toast with homemade strawberry syrup and freshly whipped cream. Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. And a small handful of Andes mints. Small? Who am I kidding..
Oh goodness how I love to eat.
Today while grocery shopping alone (Andrew took advantage of the gorgeous weather and rode his bike, woohoo!!), I bought kale. I mean, I bought other things too, but kale was one of them. I have decided to tackle the foods that intimidate me. Goat cheese might be next. Plans for the kale are to toss with a bit of oil, season with garlic salt & peppa, and roast until crispy. No, I did not make this up. It is apparently delicious to some people. We’ll see how it goes over with the ol’ taste buds. I just can’t imagine it in a soup or something like that. I don’t do well with wilty, floppy flat things. Heh heh.
So, V-Day is upon us. I will spend it subbing for the high school secretary and going to cheerleading practice. I am not good at secretarying. I can never transfer calls correctly, so many times I act like I’m going to transfer someone and just hang up. Oops.
Speaking of which, I need to go pack my lunch and head onto bed. Later sweet pataters.
