So there I am, searching through the limited selection of size ten shoes at TJ Maxx determined to buy something fabulous and maybe a tad frivilous, when my phone beeps.  I knew what it was before I even pulled my phone out of my purse.  It was 7:29pm, the Bible Study was to start at 8.  Sure enough, it was a text message from the sweet lady who leads the Bible Study.

“Hope you can make it to bible study :)”

I didn’t even blink before responding, “I am coming!  I am about to leave Jonesboro so I will be a little late, but I’ll be there.”

I don’t know if it was Bible Study Guilt or God’s way of making me go because He knew I needed to, but whatever it was, it worked.  I sped home as fast as I could (after stopping for the frozen yogurt I had promised myself), the entire time feeling ridiculous for being so blazingly defiant about the whole thing.  I was even dilly dallying in TJ Maxx just to take up time so that I wouldn’t be pulling into my drive-way right at 8 as everyone was walking to Bible Study, which was to take place at the house across the street.

A classic fool, I tell you.

I hurried across the street as soon as I got home (after breezing through the assigned reading on the toilet), and was there for the full 2 1/2 hours.  It was refreshing and informative.  I was glad I went.

It should be noted that all I ended up purchasing while running from my Bible Study Guilt was….

a sports bra.

Fabulous, no?

TJ Maxx is such a dangerous place to shop. I try to avoid the purse aisle… that’s my weakness..
I cannot walk out of TJ Maxx without purchasing something :-/

  2. Oh my goodness it’s so true! Haha my weakness is the cookware aisle. I want every colored casserole dish they have. Oh dear I sound like a grandma. The last purse I bought was there and I LOVE it. Such a fun store. Kind of like hunting for buried treasure sometimes, which makes it that much more fun.
