Is it Friday yet?

This whole working everyday thing takes some getting used to!  More so, getting up early!  Goodness.  I am tired!  But – I am very grateful to have a full time gig (heh heh) until we move.  I’m just so glad I am in the library and not in an actual classroom.  🙂

So, yesterday was my first day as a self proclaimed vegetarian.  After work, Andrew & I had to go get a roll of unprinted newspaper (yay, time to pack!), so we just decided to go out to eat for dinner.  We went to our fav restaurant, Godsey’s Grill, which just happens to have the most amazing Rueben Sandwich.

Trial #1 as a new vegetarian.

Side note here:  My sister asked me yesterday, “What are you gonna do if you just really want some chicken?”  Well, I guess I’d eat it if I really wanted it bad enough.  Here’s how I am looking at it:  I really don’t think I am going to be a vegetarian for forever.  Maybe not even for a year, maybe not even for two months.  BUT, it is something I want to try, just to see what it’s like.  I like to challenge myself and I like to try new things, and this is definitely a new thing.

I am calling this next month my trial period.  All I am committing to right now is to be a vegetarian for the month of April (a little late to call it a Lent thing, oh well).  After that, I’ll reevaluate it and see how I’m feeling, see if it’s something I’d like to continue.  You know, honestly, after we get to Colorado & I am in a place where there are lots of new restaurant options, I am probably gonna want to eat me some meat.  We shall see.  I just want to see if the vegetarian thing is all it’s hyped up to be.

So, we’re at Godsey’s and all I can think about it corned beef.  I am determined to try to not eat meat for this whole month, so I order a grilled cheese & sweet potato fries (the second time I’ve ordered that at a restaurant this week ha).  It was not until after the waitress took my order that I realized I was about to eat my fourth sandwich of the day.  That’s eight slices of bread.  Half a loaf.

I ATE HALF A LOAF OF BREAD YESTERDAY.

hahahahahahahahahaaa….. oh dear me.

No sandwiches today.  Lol.

In other news, I saw a 7 year old boy flip off a school bus after he got off of it yesterday.  What is the world coming to?

Also, I really like helping students find books for research.  I am a nerd.

Hahaha I’m not surprised about the flipping off. Middle fingers are flying everywhere these days. Anyway, I can kind of relate to your bread-overload but mine is called cheese-overload. I cannot stop eating it. Also, I think you’ll be able to make it past just April, but if you ever want some good ole steak just come on by big mama’s house and I’ll cook ya one up. Actually I probably won’t because I’ve never cooked a steak. It’s the thought that counts ok. Matt will cook it. Love you!

    • That’s why you’ve been so constipated! Man I love cheese. Ever tried goat cheese? Mmm. Thank you for your supportive words. After your text message yesterday I was afraid you thought I was being stupid. I am not one for labels, and I think meat is delicious. I just want to try it out. I found a recipe for black bean burgers & I think you are the only person who would eat them with me. I promise to put lots of cheese on it.

Haha, yes goat cheese is good. But I cannot have it. Thank you for the reminder. I don’t think you are stupid. If I ever think that you are, it doesn’t last for very long. Anyway, let’s eat them there burgers this weekend, yo.
