I slept until 10:30. That is, I slept until 10:30 after I woke up at 5:30 and made Andrew breakfast and made sure he got off to work alright. He’s just so cute. Even at 5:30am.
I got a rejection email from a job I applied to a couple days ago. The job: “Nutrition Assistant.” A.K.A. Cafeteria Worker At A Fancy Hospital. Not really sure why this makes today good, but I just found it humorous. My email about it to Andrew said, Oh me oh my.. they won’t even hire me to slice up some pie. Heh, heh.
I decided to stop having days like yesterday, where I sit around and mope all day about the current situation. Days where I lay in the floor crying because I’m homesick and feel really retarded for not being able to get a freaking job. I made the executive decision to put an end to them because I cannot continue to act/feel so pathetically when, whether it feels like it all the time or not, I am so incredibly blessed. Too blessed to be stressed, just like the bumper sticker says.
I made myself go to the gym earlier in the day (earlier being noon), and actually had an amazing workout. I also saw an old lady’s bush in the locker room by complete accident. It’s safe to say that I am officially troubled now.
A couple of weeks ago I got a thing in the mail from Kohl’s for $10 off anything. I went in there earlier in the week and didn’t find anything worth my sacred card I’d been holding onto for dear life. (Hello, it’s like a free ten dolla bill! I don’t know if Andrew quite understood this). I’m sure the powers-that-be at Kohl’s fully intended the $10 gift card holders to go in and spend well over ten dollars, but not this girl. I wasn’t looking for anything over $12, tops.
Last night as I lay my head on the decorative throw pillow I’ve been using ever since I left my actual pillow in Arkansas, it donned on me. *lightbulb* I’ll get myself a pillow at Kohl’s! And that is just what I did. Only, I didn’t get just one pillow. They had these big, nice pillows on sale for $4.99 each (originally $11.99). So I got two of them and didn’t pay a single penny.
After my mid-day workout, I came home and cleaned the apartment. I then showered and fixed my hair and put on makeup and a dress. Look better, feel better, do better. And I felt so good that I took my sweet self to The Cupboard to see if they had a certain sauce Andrew’s uncle was wanting. As weird as it feels going there now, it was so nice just to see some familiar faces.
They didn’t have the sauce, just in case you were wondering.
Andrew just called & is on his way home. We might go out tonight, just light up the town or set it on fire or whatever. Tomorrow is payday, after all. And thank goodness. Thank. Goodness.
Time to take Miss Mayfield for a quick spin around the parking lot. Peace out, hotcakes.
