31 weeks

I’m watching Live with Kelly as I type this, and she is talking on the phone to a lady who is at the beach right now and I am totally jealous of her.  So jealous, or as the cool kids say, Totes Jell.  I will now begin taking donations to the “Send Heather + Andrew On A Babymoon To The Beach” fund.  I just want, like, a few days.  Some sand, some sun.  A little chillaxin’ before the bless-ed child arrives and destroys my nipples.  Doesn’t that sound nice?  The sand and sun, not the destroyed nipples.

Thirty-one weeks, here you are.

front view, hello

I am feeling pretty darn good!  This past week I slept really well, which has been super nice.  I think I am finally used to sleeping on my left side, so I’m not tossing and turning the whole entire night.  Plus Andrew & I switched pillows, so maybe that has helped.  We like to keep the marriage spicy, you know.  We also resumed playing Uno before bed this week.  We used to do it a lot.  Let’s just say I’m ahead right now as far as wins/losses go.  I’ll leave it at that.  Save my trash talk for later.

I keep waiting for the swelling to happen.  You know, the fat feet and ankles, the sausage fingers.  I know it will happen eventually.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking forward to it.  It will probably get me a few more foot rubs though.

I can feel myself slowing down.  My walks with Mayfield have started taking much longer, and we are going the same distance.  It takes me longer to clean up around the apartment.  Getting groceries takes longer.  I am determined to stay in motion!  After taking a week off, I have resumed my light arm weight exercises.  I have lessened my squats and lunges because my joints were getting really sore (pregnancy symptom), so now I do leg exercises on the floor – things like leg raises, etc.  And I stretch everyday.  Gotta stay loose!  I also occasionally dance around just because it is hilarious.  Have you ever seen a pregnant lady trying to dance like Beyonce?  Because you should see it at some point in your life.

My stomach has taken a downward turn, literally.  I told Andrew the other day that my belly button looks sad.  Like instead of puppy dog eyes I have a puppy dog belly button.  It looks like it might cry.

cheer up, belly button

I haven’t really noticed any specific food cravings this week.  Just everything.  Give me one of everything.  Sprite continues to taste amazing.

My NOSE has really been working overtime this week.  I can smell things so well, which is not always a good thing.

Be warned, for what I am about to say next might be TMI.  My boobs now rest on top of my stomach when I sit down.  The other night I got tired of wearing a bra, so I was sitting on the couch watching TV in just some yoga pants (trust me, not as hot and sexy as it sounds).  I decided to test the grip of the new fold between the boobs and belly.  I was able to successfully hold a cell phone in the fold under each, um, breast.  Why am I typing this on here.  Why.

Little Watson has a new favorite hang out place – underneath my right rib cage.  It is mildly uncomfortable and extremely weird.  I have to sort of raise my arm or shoulder to make room for him.  Once I was able to sort of nudge him back down with my hand.  Little booger.

Pregnancy continues to be a wonderful experience and a huge blessing.  And yes, I still have gas.

Sometimes I have to lift my boobs up when I’m sitting, just to give them some air. Totally annoying.
