We were gone all weekend welcoming a new baby nephew in Tuscaloosa, which involved some late traveling and spending the night on the floor of a waiting room.  It was so good to be there and be surrounded by the miracle of life (b/c it’s just plain nuts), but I am beyond exhausted.  I can’t pull all-nighters like I used to.

I just texted Andrew and told him that my re-entry back into the world of motherhood today has been a tad brutal.  My dad and step-mom graciously kept Parker all weekend.  He would not have fared so well in the waiting room floor… and we missed the little guy so much.  But good golly miss molly, he has been a wild man today.  Again I’ll say Praise Jesus for nap time.  I don’t usually join Parker in his daily napping, but I think this afternoon I just might have to.  The laundry and the groceries and the dirty bathroom can all wait.

In an attempt to let him burn off some energy, we went outside this morning to play in the yard. He immediately took off down the street, making me chase after him in my robe with my cup of coffee sloshing everywhere. Not sure why I didn't just set the cup down...?

In other news, does anyone else love Mulan as much as my sister and I?  It just makes me want to take up karate or something.
